It seems to me that this is a design that could be the answer to a number of problems in producing en economical, simple, light weight, low RPM high torque and efficient engine. This is a relitive old design so patent should be no object.
A lot of money has been spent on gear reduction systems and their inherant compexities. It seems to me that if all the time, effort and money that has been spent trying to make the wankel viable had been put into this engine we would have something worthwhile.

Re-reading this post, I noticed that point three has some disjoint issues. Specifically, the second half about "....the rules don’t make much sense, or the rules seem overly complicated for what they set out to emulate / accomplish...." really belongs apart for this point. It likely is an aspect for the first point, about gaming systems should be easy to learn quickly, which implies making intuitive, or at least consistent, sense.

I upgraded from wordpress-2.9.2 to wordpress-3.0.

My upgrade definitely took me under two hours, probably less than that. Most of my time was google-ing around for answers. ( It's been awhile now, can't remember the details. )

As always, backup the MySQL database before preceding. :-D

I've got a WP-2.8.6 install over here with NN (NNN?) users on it, and I'm sorta dreading upgrading it, especially during the academic year as it appears I'll have to eventually...

Can you say how much time you spent on your own update? What version did you go to 3.0 from?
