Envisioned RPG System

So, for various reasons, the rules of all the RPGs I’ve read or played in have annoyed me. Maybe it’s the mathematician and computer scientist in me wanting to treat it more like a modeling situation where you want it as accurate as possible. Also, with my basic knowledge of statistics and probability, it’s so painful to see them hack something together when, knowing what they want to do, I know of much simpler ways to do things. And finally, I find most game systems are too complicated because they have too many exceptions and layers, versus having one set of rules that extends well. Hacked design versus elegance.

At the moment, I’m still working on it. I actually hope to do a polished job of writing it up. Currently, I’m writing about my motivations, to give everyone an idea of where I’m coming from (as well as help to focus myself into what I really care about.)
